Tudor Home Transformation in Berkeley, CA: ADU Conversion and Interior Remodel

This Tudor house in Berkeley, CA, was in poor interior condition but held great potential for a stunning transformation. The project scope included converting the existing finished basement into a new ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit), remodeling the kitchen and powder room on the first level, and updating bedrooms and bathrooms on the second level.

Non-load-bearing walls were removed to create a more open layout, all within the existing building envelope. No additional footprint or conditioned space was added, preserving the historical integrity of the home while providing modern, functional living spaces.

The proposed design layout emphasized formal spaces while seamlessly integrating modern functionality.

This new design, features two bedrooms, one full bath, a formal dining room, a spacious living area, a custom-designed kitchen, and a convenient laundry room—all on the first floor. The second floor houses a private primary suite, designed as a serene retreat from the bustle of daily life.
